Ways to Give Back / Pay it Forward
If you would like to be helpful to the current and coming generation of emerging managers, here are some ideas for how you can do so. Some of these are very simple and consume little time (like writing out a mistake you made, or recommending a service provider).
- briefly share a mistake, insight or lesson learned from your experience, that others can learn from
- share some hacks you used to save money in the early years (e.g. off-month audits)
- recommend a service provider you have a strong positive view of
- share content or resources that are helpful for emerging manager stockpickers (interviews where emerging managers share their experiences, insightful content that helped you think about how to build your firm, etc.)
- share any advice that you have for others who are following a similar path to yours
- write a longer form essay (similar to Rob Vinall's "Some Thoughts on Becoming an Independent Fund Manager") to share
